Olympus Sashiko Needles

The two needles in this package from Japan are 2” and 2 ½” in length.  This makes it easy to spread out the stitches to check for accuracy in length before pulling the thread through the fabric.  The gold eyes make the needles easier to thread but a needle threader is very helpful.

These needles are longer, stronger, more rigid and sharper than traditional needles making it easier to stitch long sections before pulling the needle through.
Perfect for working with all weights of Sashiko thread but are particularly good for the regular/thick weight threads.

Chacopy Tracing Paper

Now you can transfer your design and pattern clearly without staining your hands and fabrics. Place the tracing paper between the pattern piece and the fabric and trace with a stylus or soft tracing wheel. The transferred lines can be removed with ease by washing.

Sulky Transfer Pens

Sulky transfer pens easily transfer designs permanently onto fabric, canvas, stabilizers, wood or just about any surface where a hot iron can be used.

It is easy for all skill levels of craft enthusiasts to use as the ink glides on like a marker. Great for quilt labels. You can transfer 3-5 times with one application of ink.
Steps:
-trace the design onto paper—it can be colour coded as the   transfer pens are available in many colours
-iron the design to fabric, wood, canvas, stabilizer etc.
-stitch or embellish image as desired.

.Mary Parker uses iron transfer pens in her book Sashiko Easy and Elegant Designs for Decorative Machine Embroidery, as a method to transfer the design to the fabric.

This method is great for transferring Sashiko designs if you are stitching by machine from the wrong side
