    Fabrics for Sashiko

    Pre-marked Navy Fabric

    100% cotton fabric
    Each section is wider than pictured here.
    The width of each section is listed below the image.  It is one continuous piece without a line down the middle as is shown in the image but this is the only way that I could scan it.

    This fabric is ready to stitch with the Sashiko thread colour of your choice.  The lines will wash out when you are finished the stitching.

    NEW     Pre-Printed Navy Fabric

    44" wide
    This is a much larger pattern than the one above.  
    Each unit is approx. 4"x4 5/8" in size.  
    It is the same design all over the fabric.
    Stitching lines wash out so please do not pre-wash.

    NEW   Sashiko Cloth

    This is the same cloth that is used to make the pre-printed samplers.  Now you can create your own patterns using fabric to match the other samplers.  There has only been one design with the black fabric and I have had several requests for black so here is your chance--start creating!

    Navy Linen/Cotton Blend

    55% Linen 45% cotton

    This fabric is one of my favourite fabrics for Sashiko. Since it is a natural fabric with the combined characteristics of linen and cotton, therefore, it needles very well.  Be sure to pre-wash as it does shrink some, particularly in the width.  It has a crease resistant finish so is much easier to press than linen.  55" wide

    black, white, pink, blue, and ecru.

    Kona Cotton

    Kona cotton is the very best woven cotton available that is heavier than broadcloth but not as heavy as duck.  It has a very high thread count so is a little harder to stitch that the Linen Blend listed above.  However, it is less expensive and does come in a number of colours. 100% cotton 44" wide
