Floche is made from Egyptian long-staple cotton thread making it the finest of cotton embroidery threads. Made from mercerized 100% cotton thread, it has a beautiful texture and sheen. Floche is different from stranded cotton as it is a 5-ply lightly twisted thread which gives much better coverage than 2 ply stranded floss.  Floche is not divisible so no stripping is necessary. It looks and feels like silk.  The thread is equivalent to a size 16.

Some uses include smocking, shadow work, embroidery, needlepoint, cross stitch, whitework, blackwork, monogramming and cutwork.
